As I understand it, on Windows (not sure about Mac) the tablet and mouse use the same interface, and if using the tablet did not disable the mouse then the Affinity application would end up very confused as the two input sources would conflict with each other.įrom the lead Ingram Isn't the use of mouse + tablet pen like on a laptop the use of mouse + build-in trackpad? Do you also expect these to disable each other? if its still really uncomfortable to use a screenless tablet AND youre willing to drop some money on one, id reccomend trying out screened tablets.I don't think you're doing anything wrong, and I think it works that way for everyone. That said, about 2 years ago i got my first screened tablet (xp pen artist 15.6) and recently upgraded to the cintiq 16 and im looooooving it (so far, only had it for about a week). having a bigger, closer screen to look at really helped me because im pretty blind and i didnt have to reach over my tablet to hit hotkeys anymore. What helped me a lot was, rather than using the tablet sitting flush with my laptop, i would have my laptop to my left so i could use the keyboard for shortcuts and id have the screen being duplicated onto a monitor in front of me. building up the hand eye coordination is really frusturating and weird at first, but after a week of practice everyday for about an hour or more, it clicked. I started out doing digital art for the most part (i only really sketch and sometimes ink traditionally) but it took me about a week to get used to my first screenless tablet (an old intuos cth 680). Respect others, either the input they give, questions that might sound "stupid", or when they share their work.
